Masquerade Ball
Hello, Haniedu! This is Hee from Virginia. Today's topic is about masquerade ball. (This happened on September, the second month since I arrived.)
안녕하세요 하니에듀? 버지니아에 거주하고 있는 황희입니다.
오늘의 주제는 Masquerade Ball, 가면 무도회 입니다!! 
이 파티에 참석하게 된 때는 9월인데 이제야 올리네요ㅠㅠ
Let's fall into the party!! Everyone's having fun!!!
I've been into more parties like this than I have in Korea. There weren't many parties in Korea like this; where you put dresses and tuxedoes. So this was a great experience for me
파티의 분위기에 취해보아요!! 모두들 즐거워 보이죠?
저는 한국에 있었을 때보다 이러한 종류의 파티를 더 많이 참석했던 것 같아요. 한국에서는 이렇게 드레스와 턱시도를 차려입는 파티가 그다지 없던 걸로 기억해요ㅠㅠ
그래서 제게 이러한 경험은 매우 값졌답니다.
As I said before, Masquerade ball is a party where people show up with fancy dress and masks.
I didn't know there was masquerade party nowadays. I thought masquerade balls only existed in 18th century, especially in Europe, where people were all divided into novelties and commoners. And only novelties threw parties to show off their wealth. So it was very unexpected but interesting.
앞에서도 말했듯이, 이 파티에서는 사람들이 드레스를 차려입고, 마스크를 쓰고 참석해요.
처음에는 가면 파티가 아직까지도 존재한다는게 좀 생소했었어요 :P
저는 가면 무도회가 중세시대 때, 특히 유럽에서, 귀족과 평민계층이 나누어졌을 때, 귀족들이 단지 자신들의 부유함을 자랑하기 위해 여는 파티인 줄 알았거든요.
굉장히 생소했지만, 흥미로웠어요.
My family was of course invited. So we all dressed up and put a mask on.
This is the picture we took before the party. The girl with a pink dress is a friend of Avery (the girl with a black dress) who decided to go with us.
저와 제 호스트 가족도 당연히 초대받았답니다. :D 모두들 드레스와 양복으로 차려입고, 가면을 쓴 후, 파티에 참석했어요. 분홍색 드레스를 입은 여자애는 호스트 동생 (검정 드레스) 의 친구인데, 저희 가족과 함께 파티에 갔어요.
Th five of us took a picture with our mask on as soon as we got in to the place.
이렇게 다섯이서 파티장소에 들어가자마자 바로 사진을 찍었어요! :)
And these two pictures above were taken at the party when we all through away our masks.
그리고 위의 두 사진들은 시간이 좀 지나고 우리 모두가 가면을 다 벗어던진 후 찍었답니다!
We were the first few people who came to the party but as the time went by, many people showed up and we all started dancing along the music. It was very interesting because the DJ played mostly Waltz music and it really felt like centuries or even decades ago.
우리가 먼저 도착한 사람들 중 하나였지만, 시간이 갈수록 사람들이 많이 왔었고, 모두들 춤을 추었어요.
굉장히 흥미로웠던 점은 DJ 가 주로 왈츠 선율의 음악을 틀었었는데, 몇십년 아니면 몇백년 전 느낌이 난 것 같았어요! 
Aren't they handsome? Almost everyone took off their mask towards the middle of the party.
멋있죠? 파티 중간 쯤 돼서, 거의 대부분의 사람들이 마스크를 벗었어요.

Well, there was a few people who still wore their masks and they were all so cool!
뭐, 이렇게 마스크를 벗지 않은 사람들도 있었죠. 마스크가 정말 멋있었어요!
깨알같은 저의 모습이네요. 사실 저 때 드레스가 길어서 자꾸 발에 밟혀서 고생이었답니다ㅠㅠ

These are my American parents!! They are so happy together and I just love them!!!
제 미국인 부모님들이요ㅋㅋ 파티 내내 정말 즐겁게 지내셨고, 이분들 정말 정말 사랑해요 <3
I'll finish up this with the picture of my sister and her friends. Masquerade ball was one of the parties that I had never gone before I came here and I'll still remember this party!!! It's one of memorable experience during my exchange year!!!
제 호스트 동생과 친구들의 사진으로 이 글을 마칠게요. 가면 무도회는 미국에 오기 전에는 이런 파티에 참석하리라 꿈에도 생각하지 못했던 파티였어요.
가장 추억으로 남았던 교환학생으로서의 경험 중 하나랍니다!!!
