안녕하세요! 하니에듀 본사 공립교환 26기 김예진이라고합니다! 벌써 봄이오고 이제 5월이 다되어 가네요! 한국 갈 날이 얼마 안 남아서 기다려지기도 하고 또 정든 사람들과 헤어져야 한다는 생각을 하니 슬퍼지네요.. 그래도 남은 기간 더 열심히 할려고 노력하고 있습니다! 그리고 호스트 가족을 바꾸고 돌아왔어요! 사실 학교편을 쓰기 전부터 바뀌었었는데 쓰는 거를 깜빡 했네요. 더 좋으신 분들과 함께 즐거운 시간을 보내고 있답니다!

이번에 소개해 드릴 주제는 문화에요. 다른 나라에 10개월동안 사는 거니까 정말 다른 문화들을 겪었던 것 같아요. 그래서 그에 대해 조금 얘기해보려 합니다!

The topic that I am introducing is Culture. I have had alot different things and felt different cultures between Korea and America since I've been to America. So I would like to talk about it.

1. 모든 학년이 내 친구가 될수 있습니다!

한국이나, 중국,일본 같은 동아시아 쪽에서는 나이가 중요한 부분이 잖아요, 그런데 미국은 나이에 관해 동아시아쪽 같이 중요하게 생각하지 않는것 같아요. 영어에는 존댓말이 없다고 하더라구요, 아마 이것도 그 이유 중에 하나인 것 같아요. 게다가 학교수업도 한교실에 9,10,11,12학년 다 같이 있으니까 학년구별 없이 친해게 되구요! 저도 제 학년인 11학년 주니어는 물론 9학년,10학년,12학년 각 학년 별로 친구들이 있어요!

The Age is important for East Asia as Korea,China, and Japan. But
America doesn't consider seriously about the age like asian countries. I've heard there's no honorific  in English. I guess it is probably one of the reasons. In addition, 9th,10th,11th,12th grades students can have same class at school. so that way they can get friendly each other. Even if we are different age! And also I have many friends from different grades.

 2. I like your __________

다른 교환학생들의 문화글에도 가장 많이 올라오는 글 중에 하나가 바로 이거 인 것 같아요! 이 말의 뜻은 대략 너 그거 이쁘다,귀엽다 이런 말이에요. 여기서는 남자여자 구별 안가리고 남자가 여자한테 그거 귀엽다 또는 여자가 남자한테 그거 잘 어울린다 이런 식으로 얘기해요. 그리고 그 해당되는 것들은 다양한데요, 예를 들어 네일,악세사리,화장,머리,옷,신발 등이 있어요. 저도 처음에는 그렇게 해본 적이 없어서 어색했었는데, 지금은 틈만 나면 이거 이쁘다! 라고 얘기해요. 이말이 별 거 아닌 것 같지만 친구사귀는데도 도움이 되구요, 얘기할려고 할때 도 좋은 것 같아요!
 This part is the most common part of the culture writing of other exchange students. This means about to say it is pretty, cute. Boys and Girls don't care to say this to each other. And there are many options of this, for examples are nail,makeup,hair,clothes,shoes and so on. I was little bit awkward to say it because I hadn't said it before a lot. But it is my favorite sentence! It seems nothing but It is really good to make friends and try to talk with them.

3.프롬(Prom)

또 미국하면 빠질 수 없는 게 파티죠! 미국학교에는 한국학교와는 달리 파티 문화가 더 많이 있어요. 이때 여러 춤도 추고, 드레스 같은 것도 입고! 많은 파티들이 있는데, 그 중에 제가 쓸 파티는 바로 프롬이에요! 미국학교에 교환학생을 왔다면 절대 빼 놓지 말고 해야할 것 중에 하나인 프롬! 프롬은 학교의 한 해 중에 가장 큰 파티라고 할 수 있는 졸업파티 같은거에요. 모든 학생들이 프롬을 기다리고 준비해요! 저도 어쩌면 처음이자 마지막이 될지도 모를 프롬을 4월 27일! 얼마 전에 갔다왔어요. 이날을 위해서 드레스를 사러 갔는데 아쉽게도 제가 마음에 드는 거는 가격이 비싸거나 마음에 안 드는 것 뿐이더라구요.. 그래서 결국에는 못 사서 호스트시스터의 드레스를 입어야했지만 그래도 이쁘더라구요!

Party must be with America! American High schools have more party cultures than korean highshcools. They dance, wearing pretty dress! The party I am writing is about PROM! One of the things you must do If you come to America for exchange student. Prom is the biggest school party of the year like graduation party. Every student is waiting and preparing for it! I've been to the prom that can be my first and last on April 27th. I was trying to find the dress I want for prom, but unfortunately some I want was expensive or not good.. So It was still pretty, even though I had to wear the dress of one of hostsisters.

그리고 이렇게 드레스를 입고 화장하고 머리하고 파티를 가볼 기회가 거의 없을 것 같았기도했고 미국학교의 전통이라고 하니 안 갈 수가 없겠죠?! 가서 춤도추고 친구들과 즐거운 시간을 보냈던 것 같아요!

You should go to the prom! because I don't think there's more chance to weard dress, do make up and get hair for parties like this. And also it is a tradition of American school. I really had great time with my friends, dancing and talking at prom.

4.  한국에 대해서
 About Korea
 

솔직히 여기가 시골이라서 그런거 일 수도 있는데요, 한국에 대해서 아는 사람은 그리 많지는 않은 것 같아요. 하지만 요즘 북한에 대해 여러 이슈가 있어서 그에 대해서는 관심이 있는 것 같아요. 저에게 와서 너는 북한이 미사일이나 핵을 쓴다는 것에 대해 어떻게 생각하냐고 질문도 몇번 받았어요. 좀 좋지않은 소식으로 한국이 조금 더 주목 받기는 했지만, 좋은 소식으로 주목을 받는 경우도 있어요! 바로 강남스타일!지금은 젠틀맨이 나왔고 강남스타일이 나온지 꽤 되서 작년 만큼 이슈는 아니지만 거의 모든 애들이 강남스타일하면 알정도로 유명해요! 라디오에서도 나오구요, mall에서도 나오고요! 제가 이해할 수 있는 한국노래가 먼 땅 미국에서 나온다는게 정말 신기한 일인 것 같아요. 또 강남스타일로 인해서 한국의 문화를 좋아하는 사람들도 생겼구요.

 그리고 여기에도 삼성,기아,현대,엘지 제품들이 정말 많고, 많은 사람들이 사용하고 있지만 한국회사인 거는 몰라요.ㅠ 그래서 제가 그 회사들이 한국회사라고 하면 정말 좋은 제품을 만드는 회사들이라고 해요.

To be honest, only few people know about Korea. I guess because the area I am living is a kind of country. However, North Korea is a kind of issue these days, so they started getting interested in Korea. I've been asked what do you think about the NorthKorea from my friends. Korea is not interesting for them  because of only it but also Gangnamstyle by Psy!. Even though the song is not as much popular as last year, most of them know the song. I've heard the song from the radio, at the mall. It is cool to hear the song I can understand comes out to America, which is very far away from Korea.

And many people are using a lot of products of Samsung,KIA,Hyundai and LG. But they don't know that they are korean company. So  when I talk to them they are korean company, they said they make very good products.

 

5. 사진찍을 때 웃으면서!

Take picture with Smile :)

미국에 와서 여러가지 다양한 경험을 하는 만큼 기억에 남을 사진도 찍어야겠죠!
한국에서 사진 찍을 때에는 웃으면서 잘 안 찍었는데, 미국에서는 사진찍을 때 웃는게
중요해요! 모든 친구들이나 호스트가족 선생님 등등 다 사진 찍을 때에는 웃다 보니까 저도 자연스럽게 사진찍을 때 웃게 되더라구요. 그래서 이제 사진 찍을 때 안 웃으면 사진이 우울해 보이는 것 같기도 하구요.

사진 찍을 때 웃기! 작지만 정말 중요한 것 중 하나에요~

We should take as many pictures as we have experienced to remember and leave the memory!

When I was in Korea, used to take pictures without smiling, But it is important for here. Everybody, friends,host family,teachers, and so on takes pictures with smiling. So that makes me smile whenever I take picutures. In addition, pictures without smile seem not happy.

Taking pictures with smiling! It is significant, though it is small.
