Hi guys, I'm Mi Rim. My time as an exchange student is 34 weeks. The picture above is a picture of my host brother and I with our Korean snacks. The picture below is a picture of a meal I made for my host family. I normally cooked and ate Korean snacks and ramen myself when I really wanted to have Korean food before. And I just memorized what I wil cook Korean food for my host family. So when my host family and I went to another new Asian market one day, I planned to cook tteokbokki and fried dumplings. Later I made up sweet tomatoes (this was my Korean mom's idea when I was in Korea). Also I prepared yogurt drinking with main foods for dinner. It was very delicious and my host family appreciated it very much.

I worried it might be not taste good at first. But I did a great job using myKorean mom's methods step by step. I called my mom for advice. When I prepared food, I seemed like 며느리, lol.

When I was done cooking this meal, I was thankful for all my mom's food for me when I was at home.I felt sorry about my not helping her cook. So it changed my mind, when I go home, I will absolutely help my mom cook. I will cook a meal for her and my family sometime. Making this meal for my host family made an independent spirit in me because I had to figure out dinner for myself without helpers.

Finally when you cook for your host family, don't be sad and ferocious even if they don't like it or not don't want to eat it. I know you will expect thier good reaction about your country's food. I was too. My host mom had very deliciously and liked my meal whereas my host brother didn't eat it because he was full. I was sad about it but I want to tell you Just respect whatever their choice.

Thank you and thank you God.
